Embark on an epic 3-day journey across southern Morocco, from the High Atlas Mountains to the towering golden dunes of Merzouga. This unforgettable adventure combines UNESCO World Heritage sites, dramatic gorges, palm-lined valleys, and a magical night camping under the stars in the heart of the Sahara Desert.
Depart early to cross the High Atlas Mountains, climbing to the legendary Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. Continue to the breathtaking Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco's most famous fortified villages.
From there, head to Ouarzazate, often nicknamed the "Hollywood of Morocco," for a visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt and its renowned film studios. Continue into the stunning Dades Valley, famously known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, driving along one of Morocco's most scenic roads before arriving in Boumalne Dadès for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, set off toward the Merzouga dunes. Along the way, stop in Tinghir to explore its lush palm grove before venturing into the dramatic Todra Gorge, one of Morocco's most spectacular canyons, with towering rock walls rising up to 300 meters. Enjoy lunch on-site before continuing through the palm groves of Tinjdad, Touroug, and Erfoud.
Arrive in Merzouga, gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, for an unforgettable camel trek through the towering golden sand dunes, culminating in a spectacular desert sunset. Spend the night in a traditional nomadic desert camp nestled among the dunes, an authentic Sahara experience under a sky full of stars.
After breakfast, journey back through the Draa Valley, passing through Rissani and N'Kob, crossing some of the most mysterious and remote desert landscapes in Morocco, dotted with scattered oases. Continue to Ouarzazate for lunch, before making the final drive back to Marrakech.
